Water pump

I bought a 2016 25' forest river surveyor. I am having trouble getting my water pump to work. The pump turns on, but no water out of faucets. Is there a secret that I don't know. Any suggestion would help.

The first place to check is the water tank fill valve, if it has one. This valve allows water from the main line to bypass the pump and flow into the tank. That's great is more water is flowing in via the city inlet to fill the tank, but if the pump is on, the pump just sucks water from the tank and pushes it right back in via the fill valve bypass. And little or nothing comes out of the water taps.
