Most people have a 8000 or 10,000 grain unit, which works fine in most situations. I have a On The Go Standard unit (8000 grain), and when in Phoenix during the winter, regenerate every 7-10 days. In the summer I spend 2 to 3 weeks in the Rochester NY area, and don't need to regenerate. It all depends on water hardness and usage. I'm pretty sure that the Flo-Pur 8000 and the On The Go 8000 are the same unit, so shop for lowest price. I would also look hard at the On The Go 16,000 grain unit. It's the same physical size as the smaller unit, except it's 9 inches in diameter rather than 6.75 inches.
