I've been using this one RV Water Softener and these SofChek Water Hardness Test Strip 27452-50 for almost 6 years and love the soft water produced. I've had soft water in the S&B so this was a must for us. This unit will produce approximately 800 gallons of soft water depending on the hardness of the incoming water.

We spend a lot of time in the SW desert so, you bet we use one. Bought it from Camping World a few years back and have been happy with it.

I've been using our On-The-Go for over 2 years now; works great. Lots of other threads about softeners; here's the one I started a while back before we got ours. The link takes you to the picture of our installation.

I have used the same one BigSky Bob uses - a Mark 8000 - for several years.
It is pretty much the same as the On the Go unit but generally costs less - $245 plus $15 shipping. It comes with test strips.

I have used this one for the last 9 months and have been very happy with it. Nothing beats having soft water!

We've been using the Flow-Pur for the past year too. We enjoy the soft water it produces and it's pretty easy to maintain.

Have been using the same softener for 6 years with no problems. We never put any water in our RV unless it has been filtered and softened. Makes fixtures in RV last a lot longer. Plus the comfort level of softened water is much better if you have dry skin.

We use the RV-PRO 10,000 it works great for us. I have it setup where I have it plumbed in and just have to hook up the supply hose to use it. We use it all the time.

I have had one for over 7 years now and would nevrer be without one. Besides what it does to condition the water for washing, showers and everyday use out filters, water heater and pipes, faucets and shower looks like new.

Are these water softeners plumbed into the coach or are they the type that are hooked up to your incoming water hose?
