We did it - Allegro 31SA
Well our trip was worthwhile. After over a year of looking and crawling through countless 5vers, travel trailers, and class B+'s, class C's and A's we finally got a 2014 31SA. We found a few things during the test drive but due to scheduling can't pick it up for a few weeks so they will have plenty of time to go through it. We are planning on a major review of everything of course when we return to get it.
One thing - the delivery manager suggested we get a maintenance plan they offer - I'll have to dig out the paperwork later but it is USA something or other. Covers 7 years, 100K miles, full tire replacement coverage, 0 deductible, etc. My gut is that this is a pretty good money maker for them or they wouldn't be keen to offer it. Price was $5,995. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Fred

As Stefan says almost everything will be under warranty when you buy it and Tiffin has the reputation of standing behind their products.
For more info join the Tiffin RV Network.

I would make sure all the problems I found were fixed before signing on the bottom line.

Congratulations on your cool new rig.
There is no right or wrong answer on the service plan. It's a gamble, not a certainty. The value on the price is dependent on the details of what it covers, how easy it is to get them to actually pay up, and how good you are at maintaining things without needing to hire someone to do it for you.
In the words of Clint Eastwood "are ya feeling lucky, punk?" If yes, then blow off the service plan. If not, then grab it. Whichever way you go the luckiest thing you can hope for is to never need it, regardless of if you bought it or not.

Do not buy the warranty. You will flooded with other offers, the only one I would even consider would be one from Tiffin.

Thanks for all your thoughts. Pretty much the way I am inclined even if I'm handier with a computer than a wrench.

Save your $6000. Only maintenance on new 2014 Tiffin (depending on miles you put on) might be one or 2 oil changes a year and lub. Maintenance plans are not warrantees. Totally different than extended warrantee which I have never bought or needed in 40 years.
So I wonder if maint plan covers annual inspections and testing of fridge, ac units, hwh, furnace etc? Will tires be replaced at end of 6 year life expectancy?

Read the agreement, then decide. That's the only way you can tell. There are too many different companies and too much fine print in these agreements.
Also, what happens if the company writing the plan goes belly up?
Find out who owns the company, google the name(s). There have been some real con artists in this business.
Also, there are some plans that are run just as the agreement reads, which often benefits the company, not the purchaser.
I would put the $6K aside and use it as things need maintained/fixed.

Thanks - I think you're right - answers to your questions are no and no.
