We made it back!

We just got back from a 6000 mile 8 week trip out west and trying to get used to living in a real house again! I averaged 7.9 MPG over the entire trip, pulling a Honda Accord and running the diesel generator some of the time while rolling. I'm not unhappy with that since I was only getting about 8 MPG on my F250 PSD pulling a 36' 5er. My DP has the Cummins ISC350 engine. How does this compare with what you folks normally get on a 40' DP?

We recently completed a similar western trip and averaged the same pulling our Pilot. We have the 350 HP Cat C7. Our target cruise speed is 60 MPG. Last years trip of similar length, but fewer long mountain pulls was about the same.

Welcome home Joe. You made it back just in time for the great heat wave. That's about how we did 3 years ago pulling our Saturn Outlook.

8 week trip, man that sounds great. We just completed only a 2-1/2 week trip from Louisiana to Savannah and the Charlestion, SC area. I drove 65 mph and 70+ mph when allowed. I avaraged just over 7.2 mpg. I have a Cummins 360 hp engine in my 40' MH.
