Weak slide motor?

2003 HR with 2 slides. The small bedroom slide now needs to be pushed inward from the outside of the coach in order to retract. It comes in a few inches then stops. Requires assistance all the time now and in all campsites so I assume it's not a voltage issue. Do slide motors get weaker over time? Is there something I should check out before a trip to the shop?

I had to lube mine and while under there I discovered that the motor mounts were loose causing it to bind in the last few inches of closing

Use a clamp-on ammeter to measure the motor amperage draw while in operation, compare reading to nameplate spec. If the motor is failing the amp draw will be higher than specified.

You did not say about extending it. A weak motor is the least likely cause,
but would be weak in both directions.
More likely something is binding.

Follow up to my original post. I evidently hit am pot hole and bounced the bed just enough to move the bed frame off the floor roller. Moved the bed back to the original location and the slide now goes in and out with no effort. Glad I noticed this before taking it to the shop!
