Weak water pump?

While commissioning my Winnebago Brave from winter storage I notice that I was getting no water to the toilet with the pump on. Also all faucets have good pressure with the hot water heater on bypass but lower pressure with bypass open and the pump will not shut off with by- pass open. No leaks. Pressure is fine at toilet on city water. Is my water pump going bad?

It probably isn't the pump if you have good pressure at all the faucets with the by pass on. It has something to do with your by pass valves. Start with the faucet farthest from the pump and test them one at a time. Don't forget the shower and outside shower. Try hot and cold at each location. Do this first with the by pass on and then repeat with the by pass off.

Did the pump run long enough to fill up the water htr tank? Mine did the same thing until I filled up the WH with water.

The HWH tank has (at its output port) a check-valve....so that water cannot flow backwards into the HWH. This check-valve causes the HWH output flow to be easily restricted (flow restriction) based on any debris in the HWH. Calcium (or suspended solids) from city water will cause this check-valve to clog.

So if in "bypass" and you have good water flow at hot-water faucets but poor flow when the HWH is not in bypass mode, it's time to become a plumber and investigate this valve.
