Weather Pro Troubleshooting

Today my Weather Pro electric awning suddenly closed. I noticed on the control panel the lights for the wind speed settings were cycling through all of them. I looked in the manual I have but could not find any chart to identify symptoms to figure out what went wrong. I contacted Weather Pro and the reply was take it to a dealer. Does anybody know what this means, the wind speed lights cycling?

Hi novi2some,
Has it been precipitating (rain, sleet, snow)? If so, turn the auto close off until the wind sensor has a chance to dry out. I mean really dry out.

Is there a beep coming from the control box located somewhere in the coach? This is the beep of death. The sensor or control board or both are bad and will need to be replaced.

Is the weather around or below 32 degrees F? The auto retract will close the awning around 32 degrees.

We are in Naples, FL. We had haevy fog this morning. It did clear. It was after the fog lifted and some time later, the awning closed.

I would try to do a reset to it by disconnecting the power to it momentary. Use the battery disconnect for the coach batteries and start with that.

I turned on the wind sensor today and no issues. I think the heavy dense fog with all the moisture in the air caused the sensor to go wacky.

Hi novi2some,
You are very fortunate. Many times once this happens, $s need to be spent to make the repair. Unless you are too uncomfortable with having the auto retract turned off, that is what I would do.

The awning, with the wind sensor still on, has worked today with no issues.
