We had a couple of QSK V12 Cummins/Komatsu gen-sets nice engines. Very quiet engine compared to CAT 3412 V12.

The QS60 is not the same as the QSK60. The first one sat on a small trailer and put out 60KW. I didn't look up the spec on the QSK60 but it is a whole bunch more machine.

But the cavitation problem has been addressed by Cummins in any case.

Rick,

Here is a link to my professional life. You will see a QSK60 and a Komatsu 930 mine truck that this engine powers driving an AC alternator. 300+ tons capacity. It is at Suncor in Ft. McMurray, AB mining the Athebasca Tar Sands. Same for the P&H 4100 electric shovel.

Some other pix from my travels.....those were really the good old days.

Used to ride shotgun with my beloved dad delivering "teeth" to the draglines up there from Berkeley CA all the way up north to Suncor/Sincrude. Was AWESOME as a kid to see the BEASTS up north digging up oil. Good times.

What a wonderful memory! Every boys dream. The pictures posted by spike45 are awesome! I use Royal Purple in my engines. I'm glad it not 60 gals worth.

I'm at Freightliner in que. Hope to get serviced later this week. Gaffney is much like Forest City. In the middle of nowhere.
