Weigh stations

When traveling the interstates does anyone ever stop at the weigh stations?

Haven't stopped at any but have been by some where I have seen motor homes sitting in line and wondered if we were doing something wrong?

Weigh stations are for commercial vehicles with DOT regulations, not RVs in personal use.

Basically No for Motorhomes or RV's. Applies to commercial vehicles. Some weigh stations have signs with weight designation (all vehicles over 26001 lbs must enter) and that would apply if your weight exceeds the limit.
Of course each state has it's rules - so to confuse the issue: Weigh Stations | AAA/CAA Digest of Motor Laws

Did have to stop at an "Inspection Station" in Arizona, searched my fridge and they took my apples and tomatoes..

Whoa up a second. It depends on what "stop" means. When I want to weigh and I am traveling if I see an empty weigh station (with the closed sign up) and a lighted zero on the scale that means the scale is on. I go in there and do a rolling free weigh, very accurate I might add.

If the scale is in operation, pass it by.

We had to stop at one in Washington state for a watercraft inspection on our kayak. Both Oregon and Washington are conducting random inspections to intercept invasive water plant and animal species. So if you are towing a boat or bringing other watercraft through these states make sure they are clean. It was off to the side, so we did not have to go through the scales.

You are not a commercial vehicle. A sign with a weight amount is for a commercial vehicle of that weight or more. Arizona and several others have "Ports of Entry" not weigh scales. These are to charge a Commerical Vehicle road tax if it did not buy enough fuel in that state to pay the tax. If the fuel was not bought, the tax will be paid before the commercial vehicle can leave.

That is how I've got weights 7? different times.
One is North of Seaside, OR on Hwy 101
One is NW of St. Helens, OR on Hwy 30
One is South of Bend, OR on the Northbound side of Hwy 97.
