Weird Marks on Goodyear RV Tires
Look at these marks. Anybody have any idea what they are? They are exactly 2 inches long and equally spaced at 13 inches apart all the way around the tire. They don't seem to be a cut, or if they are it isn't very deep. Each mark is just like the others in orientation, shape and depth. The tires are 6 years old, and I was told none of the tires have ever been off the coach. So far this is the only tire I see these marks on.
I'm at a loss

Could be either tread separation or dry rot

Hard to tell what could have made those marks. They dont appear to be very shallow.
If your rig is a 2006, and the tires are original, odds are the tires have a DOT code from 2005 or early 2006 at the latest. That makes these tires 8 or 9 years old, and passed time for new ones. These dont look safe. I would not drive them any farther than a tire store.

What is the DOT date on the tires?

Take the coach to your local Goodyear Tire shop and let the manager tell you what they are.

Looks like a road hazard cut the tire, all three appear damaged by the identical object. The equal spacing does not fit any plausible scenario.

I agree with Hooligan, zoom in on the 3rd photo, look at the left hand side of the tire mark in question, see the 3 way tear in the top of the mark? Something punctured the sidewall I am guessing.......can you take a small screw driver and move any part of this mark? If poking with a small screw driver, does the tear seem to have a bottom, can you flip the mark back out?

They look like an "M", telling you to buy MICHELIN tires.

An '06 coach so the tires are probably made in '05. You are a little out of date but like said, I'd to to a Goodyear dealer and let him explain. If they are all around the tire, something ain't kosher.

Looks like you may have curbed up against something that impressed the marks. In any case, if you're timed out, what does it really matter. Get fresh rubber and be safe.

Could the marks be from tire chain use, or cable chains?

I would drive very, very slowly to the tire shop of your choice and buy new tires. There's lots of good tire brands out there. I would look at Michelin and Bridgestone.
