Unhappy Weird speedometer

I have just purchased a 2000 ambassador the speedometer slowly swings from 55mph to 75mph slow and easly . also first deisel has no power has a guage that says turbo boost moves only small amt.

Does your speedo swing all the way up then back to 0 when ignition is turned on? If so, it's an electronic speedometer and your fluctuation could be anything to a poor ground under the dash to a weak connection to the speed sensor that's probably on your transmission.

On the lack of boost on the engine, check that you have the exhaust brake (or jake brake) in the off position. You issue could be a sticking exhaust brake or a hole in the flex pipe that connects the turbo, inner cooler, and intake manifold together.

Mine speedo was acting strange and it turned out it was the sender. It was mounted in the bell housing.
