Weldex Rear View Problem

rear view monitor worked fine but now only shows white vertical line in centre of screen. Seems to power up ok but no picture. Weldex says that this monitor is obsolete so have to trouble shoot to see what is failing. Model # is WDRV-3007M

I get that on my Voyager
B/W monitor sometimes. I can usually get it to work by pushing the power button to turn it off then back on. Back in the days of CRT TVs this was called "no raster". To might be able to find a good ole TV repair shop that could fix it for you.
Good luck.

Weldex is notorious for having power supply problems. I have replaced three. The last time was 2 years ago, but I added a 2 inch 12 volt muffin fan the blows up on the back side of the monitor. Since the power to the monitor only turns on with the ignition, I spliced in the fan to the same power line. So far, I have not had any problems.

Once the Weldex starts with problems. I would get rid of it because the fix never lasts. For what it costs to repair you can by a new colored one.
