I guess i am the only one that has walked in to a slide or raised up in to a open bay door? Put a really nice cut on my scalp. Its strange it hurts like crap, but the first thing you look for was only one watching?

But here's the real kicker: When I turned it in for health insurance they denied it on the basis that it was "a vehicle accident." Months of phone calls and e-mails, including proof from my MH insurance company that if the jacks are down and the slides are out, there is no vehicle insurance coverage.

Just reading these two posts make my head hurt!
We were on our maiden voyage in our QSDP in 2010. Within the initial 600 Km I had to attend the local ER due to illness, where I was diagnosed and received treatment for pneumonia. Two days later while preparing to leave for our next destination, I walked smack into the rear corner of the larger bedroom slide sustaining a gash just inside the hairline in the middle of my forehead. The impact knocked me flat on my back! No way was I returning to that same ER! Fortunately, it was treatable with suture strips. Other than a permanent scar, I was fine.
Two weeks later, I did exactly the same thing, thankfully with lighter impact! Duh!
At least no one was watching either incident...as far as I know anyway.
We were indeed "being tested"!
I immediately purchased a swimming noodle and a soft bump cap. I now place a 16" length of split noodle vertically on each end of the offending slide while extended and wear the bump cap if I am doing any projects under or around the slideouts. I did learn to be more careful, but these precautions have saved my head more times than I like to admit!

C'mon Joe, a little electrical tape and that cord would have been good as new!

I'm a member of the slide out club. Eight stitches on the side of my face. Happened at 9pm, luckily we were in Idaho and 10 minutes from an urgent care. The day before we were in the middle of no where and the wife would have had to duct tape the cut together until we could find a doctor. I now have bumpers on my slides :-)

At risk of opening a serious can of worms, I've seen doctors in Germany, France, England, and Canada in addition to the U.S. All of the non-U.S. experiences were quick, reasonably priced, and handled professionally. Here in the good old U.S.A. I fight insurance companies, clinics, and hospitals every time I'm unfortunate enough to need care. Mountains of paperwork, confusing and constantly changing bills, and hundreds of dollars for a simple lab test. Darn if I understand it all. It's enough to make you hit your head on a slide corner. No wait, already did that.
