What are/were your Class A Requirements?

I know everyone is different but as I am putting together a list I am always missing something. For example, someone just mentioned to me access to kitchen, fridge, and bathroom when slides are closed - that is a requirement but something I wasn't thinking about/

So, any items that you required when purchasing that may come in handy for me? Appreciate it

DP or Gas Class A?
Will you be doing your own maintenance?
Knowing this may help in requirements.

when you have your sofa/bed or beds open can you move inside the RV. Can someone get up during the night and use the bathroom or the fridge. Can you get outnof the RV if others are sleeping with all beds open?

We went to a dealer's lot, no intention of buying a motorhome. Owned a 30' 5ver we'd had for 17 years, and a small TT. My wife saw the dishwasher, and that was it.

Our first class A was an upgrade from a small 21 ft Class C micro-mini. We wanted an entry level with simple / basic systems; i.e. stove, frig, AC, furnace, basic water systems. We found the 2001 Mirada.

It also had to be somewhere around 30 ft (so we could get it ion our driveway)

After owning and using it for a few years, we got better definitions on how we're using it, and what we'd like in its replacement.

We are 100% thrilled with our "New-to-us" 1999 Southwind.

This is very important. We found out kind of after the fact. I am an early riser so take the dogs out with me early. Had friends sleeping on fold out and had to climb over them to take the mutts out

Our 38' 2000 Residency gas coach has a LR & BR 24" deep slides and with both slides closed we can easily access all areas of our coach even when LR couch is made into a bed.

Best of luck in your search for a coach that suits your needs & safe travels...

We've been bouncing all over . . . looked at a bunch of new and used DPs. My wants are purely technical. I.E. Diesel, side rad, ABS, traction control if possible, air leveling, big inverter/batt bank, probably 3 aircons, adequate interior access with slides in, big fuel tank, tag axle and good towing ability.

Debbi's list is more "vague" Big bathroom and toilet access, no range, interior colors she likes, "living room" type layout with double recliners. Not too worried about guests as it will be just the two of us 99% of the time.

We both like a driver side kitchen and she wants a nice booth instead of freestanding table.

I can handle most maint issues including engine/chassis and house.

Bottom line, pretty much waiting for her to say "this one!" Our Chihuahua, Zoe already picked her's . . . a 2 year old King Air! Almost gave me a stroke!!! LOL!

For us, it was the bathtub... She saw the master bath had a tub and she was sold on it instantly. It's currently parked out back, next to the Winnebago!

The OP said gas. Check.

The next important thing is size. Are you full time or part. If you are full time you might want a very large coach or maybe you are a minimalist and want smaller?
If you are not full time how big is your parking space?

Next is budget. Where are you at?

New or used?

Now you can start looking at floor plans.

Our wants were basic. 45' diesel, side radiator, residential refrigerator, stacked washer and separate dryer, AquaHot, minimum 500HP. Bathroom access while moving. Not to much to do to get it in top shape.

Set aside $50k to upgrade to HDTV tv's, new tires, slide toppers and awnings. We found it all in our 2004 45' Monaco.

I would check weight capacity and tow capacity close to be sure it is enough for your needs.

For me, these things were must have's:
1. Access to bathroom, bedroom, fridge & microwave when slides are in
2. Couch & recliner. I prefer to lie down to watch TV; DH prefers reclining
3. Light exterior paint color; easier to keep interior cool
4. Fully enclosed mid-bath with gravity toilet. Guests don't have to traipse through my bedroom to use a shower & I just don't trust Vacuflush or any kind of macerator system
