What do you do to the water softener for storage after short trips?

So far, we have only taken 2 or 3 day trips.
The softener is still working fine, so it does not need a recharge.

I have not been doing anything like draining it or recharging it before storage.
Will this be a problem?
We are using the coach about once a month.
We don't have cold weather problems.

Since I have read to recharge before storage, i wanted to ask the question. Hope they mean Long Term storage.

What kind do you have, if its a on the go unit go to there web site for directions. I empty the water out of mine if its only going to be a couple of weeks and I store it in my home.

If it does not need a recharge, no worries.
I put the plugs on the in/out ports and store it in a bay.

I have the Flo Pur 10000 and have used it for the past few months. In between trips I also just plug the ports and store it. When I get it out I usually run water through it and flush out the old water (not back flush just run water through it). I might run a test strip to make sure it is still softening as it should. It has worked great each trip and I haven't had to re-generate it yet.

I have a unit similar to On-the-Go, but it is hard plumbed into the water system. So I would have to unscrew the wall mount and fittings each time if I wanted to drain it.

Good suggestion on running some water through before each use.

I have an On-The-Go as well. I'm normally not in long term storage but we bought a house and it has been sitting a while. Our normal procedure is to drain the thing and let it sit. When we restart, I will back flush it and do a recharge before putting it back into service.
