If it's fwd only I would put it in park leaving it in nuetral would potentially allow it to rock back and forth while towing, not to mention if a wheel strap came loose.

Video proof Fast forward to 2:47 mark...gets interesting from there.
Accidentally pulled into the GAS section, instead of the diesel truck section.

Swicago,
I'd suggest you get a hitch riser on the MH side to level your setup. Most tow bar manufacturers recommend no more than a 2-3" difference in height. With the MH being higher if necessary.

What ever you tow make sure it can be flat towed with the fewest mods. It's really easy to trash Transmissions and other spendy parts. I pull a 92 ls1 Trans am in a toy hauler. Yep that's cheating. 😊

our Yellow Smart
I might some day upgrade this MH but I always try to keep trailer and car. Its been towed on every trip from 2008. maybe 42000 miles, car now has over 80,000 miles. Its a great trailer that can be backed up around many tight spots. Car runs at 80+ if needed for hours. (have been 750 miles in 10 hours) the car not the MH

I never thought I would see the day where a car could be trailered on a single axle. Wow!

Well is that REALLY a car? lol.
Jk, those smart cars are pretty cool looking. I've always fantasized about a MH built to house one internally.

Wrangler 4 door...been very happy so far. Good size vehicle and we have a modified Jeep for off road use so we can have fun with it when we get to where we are going. It tows nicely, though with the modifications it is getting close to 4500 lbs with a 5000 lb tow limit on the MH.

I flat tow my 82 Jeep CJ7, I do have to disconnect the driveshaft, but with my electric ratchet I have it down to about 5 minutes to remove or install.
My 95 Brave handles it fine.
In the second picture, if you look closely you will see White Sands National Park in the back ground

2015 Chevy Equinox Toad
We purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox 4 cyl and love it used to have a CRV but was told the new CRV couldn't be flat towed so went with the Chevy just need to go thru same start and shift procedure and pull one 5 amp fuse and away you go. Much less Road noise than the CRV when touring.

I tow a 06 Mini Cooper with manual transmission, just put in neutral leave key in ignition so steering lock stays unlocked, take off hand brake and good to go. Also have braking system but never use as Cooper is so light do not even know it is there.
Towing with 2015 Thor Vegas for 7000 miles so far.

My turn:
2014 4 door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a few wheel and tire updates the wife said it needed to make it more 'manly'
Demco tow bar and baseplate,
Protect-A-Tow skirt,
Brake Buddy Vantage Select
first pic is stock jeep weight,
next is after the steroids,
third is the combo...
tows great, stops great, and lot's of fun once we get there !
(last pic is after going almost straight up !
