What does this to a tire?
Only the outside of the outer right rear has wear like this. The sales guy said it was probably on the front and they rotated it. It does pull to the right a little so needs an alignment. Other than that it drive really nice and smooth.

Could been an alignment issue, has the unit been checked for ft end component wear? I'm suspecting worn ball joint (if it is IFS) or king pin bushings. It should have front end jacked up and checked. If it does have IFS, for sure check wear & alignment. The pull to the right is a red flag. Bad news is the tire is going to continue to wear like that.

Maybe for yours, but I just removed a set that didn't wear like that...

Curious, did you have your tires balanced? Had a tire do that on my class C and it was attributed to the tire being out of balance.

The sales person called the old owner and they said it was always on the back.

That looks like "cupping" to me which is usually caused by a bad shock absorber on a car. I would assume it would do the same on an RV.

I agree possible bad shock or balancing or both.

I had this on the front of a coach and it was bad tie rod ends. Lift the front off the ground and see if you can shake the the wheel. top to bottom and front to back. Do not get under the coach.
$104 for tie rod ends and $255 labor.Included alignment on solid axle front end.
This was a few years ago in Whitehorse,Yukon.
I have never seen that on a rear.

It's called "rivering". Typical Goodyear G70 problem.

That doesn't look like river wear "rivering" to me.
There is an excellent tire wear guide, with photos, at
www.euroratas.lt/galery/_euroratas/kita/.../radial_tire_conditins_analysis_guide.pdf
You can diagnose most any tire condition using it.
But if that tire was always on the back, not sure what would cause that sort of scalloped edge wear. It usually means the tire is both toed-in a bit and bouncing around. Bouncing can be bad shock absorbers or an out-of-balance tire.
