The firepit is no longer available, it was built by Pilot Manufacturing. It is 18in diameter and very low profile to store. Pure 304 stainless steel except for the brass ball valve and quick disconnect. Moveable "firelogs" and hurmickulate as ashes. It has fooled many people. I bought it at the Tampa S S at least seven years ago. No it's not for sale.

We also have a 10lb. tank and hose for our Weber. Just disconnect the hose from the grill and store it still attached to the tank in the plastic milk crate. Ikea like stores should have the crates

Do you guys secure the milk crate any special way in storage?

Just wedged in among other stored items. By the way, the tank and hose will run about $70.

A good way to purchase a tank is to buy one from the exchange co. At wallyworld or grocery store. I know it's a few dollars more but...........a year or two you can swap it out for one that looks new and that has went through a safey check for leaks and a newer valve! If you buy one somewhere else it will eventually run out on the safety date.

I got a 10lb "squatty" tank that has the same base ring as the 20-pounder. I got a Camping World base stabilizer ring and bolted it to the floor of a cargo bay, close to the front wall. The low-profile tank fits very securely in the ring, and I haven't found it necessary to put additional restraints to the top of the tank.

I chose to go poartble because I didn't want a long rubber hose with full propane tank pressure running across the campsite to the picnic table. I also have heard stories that the higher flow regulators for the on-board systems have truuble regulating the low flow to a grill. A poster on another newsgroup said he coukdn't keep the grill below 600 degrees!

The 10-pound tank is a lot easier for an old fart like me to handle, too!

If you connect extension hose after coach regulator you do not have high pressure propane running thru it.
I installed quik connect at the coach tank so when appliance is not used hose is removed as well. We run propane firepit as well as Weber from coach built in tank. No need to carry more portable tanks and I can set BBQ within 15' of coach. Actually have 2 hoses for our firepit and can set it well away from coach.

Google milk crates. Staples,Office Depot have something similar called file crates.
