What is best Diesel RV to full time in?

Hi all, New to this forum, so trying to get my sea legs, so to speak.

We have a 2008 Charleston and looking to upgrade to a late model (2012_2015) unit to full time in. We sold our house and been in the Charleston about year or so while house was on market so decided we would go full time.

Although Charleston has been good coach bought it new and would like some new amenities, like aqua hot, recliner, heated tile floors, tag axle, etc. Not sure how well Charleston would hold up full timing.

Would anyone have suggestions or opinions on another coach? We have considered EntegraAspire/Anthem, Newmar Dutch star, Tiffin Allegro Bus, Winneabgo Tour, Thor Tuscany.

Any insights, all of them have something we like.

Thanks!

I have a Tour with Aqua-Hot, recliner, Direct-TV, king size bed and plenty of storage. We also have 3 Beagle/Hounds and I can say we really don't miss a beat when we are on the road as oppose to being home.
While we are not full timers I really would not have a problem living in mine.
I also have a regular mattress (Tempurpedic) as oppose to the air beds they like to install. So my advice is have a mattress like you have in your home.

You can add 2014 Phaeton 42LH and the whole 2015 Phaeton lineup to your list as they have the requirements you listed.

Get the one that you like the best from a features and floor plan aspect.

You are going to be living in it. IMO more people change due to not liking the layout than those who are having issues with the unit.

As previous posters have mentioned, choose a floor plan and color scheme you really like. Speaking personally, the full wall slide on our Newmar really adds to the openness in the coach. We have the Oasis hotwater heating system which also provides endless hotwater for showers and laundry. Residential fridge, Stacked washer / dryer avoids using campground facilities. Tag axle really adds to coach carrying capacity which is a consideration if you are full-timing.
Good luck in your search.

A USED 2016 ?!? red flags, RED flags

Agree with those that say get the floor plan you like -
you spend 90% of your time living and 10% driving, so make the living work !

Not really... Once it has been titled it can't be sold as "new" even if the owner never used it. The business or private individual that bought it could have just had second thoughts about being able to afford it and decided to sell.

Businesses sometimes need to take a loss for tax purposes....

Any number of units from a high end builder will work well. As said, make your list of must have's and get the size and floor plan you like. There are many clean used diesels available.

Just killing time on a Sunday and had to reply to the title thread.
The best, the VERY best dp to full time in is.......yours.
Trying to full time in someone elses could get a bit awkward.

Ok seriously, there are so many options that are "right" or "best" for their owners, and yet they are all different.
I don't buy into the whole Floorplan big deal thing. No one knows what you want or need until you've spent a couple weeks living in the dang thing. I would say getting a coach in good condition, that was well maintained, drives well with a Floorplan that looks decent is my advice.
Then you KNOW whether you want or need a bath and a half, 2 couches, 4 tvs, booth table seating or drivers side kitchen.

First and foremost is to find the floor plan that both of you like. The power train is going to be very similar between all of the comparably priced coaches, Cummins engine and Allison transmission. If your budget is in the $325,000 to $450,00 (net cost after discounts) The Newmar and Entegra models will provide the quietest and most comfortable living experience. If your budget fits and you find the floor plan you like in either of these brands, don't look any further. I don't have either one, but if I had to replace what we have now, it would be either the DutchStar and Mountain Aire, or the Anthem and Cornerstone. I haven't seen any other brand in their price range built as well as they are.
