Washington has had the free coffee program for decades but there was a time a few years back where it was scaled back or ended(?). It's now back at 26-locations.

Hi Our state does LOTS wrong for sure..
As for camp Grounds the best I could recommend are Either Cherry Creek State Park, Or Chatfield State Park.. Both are very nice and roomy.. Can make reservations on line.. Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden is nice but tight..

Actually the state has wonderful state parks.. Should not miss some of them..
The character of our government has changed in the past 10 years or so.. Not for the better..
Still a great place to live but we will have to work our problems beginning at the ballot box!

I agree on getting diesel. As previously stated you usually find diesel on the end pumps at regular gas stations; however, there are some good truck stops too.

As a resident of Colorado, I see a lot of emphasis on Denver. Denver would probably be the last place that I would want to drive my motorhome or even visit. Colorado has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and some great small towns that are just fantastic. Most are found in the mountains west of Denver.

FWIW I did several weeks in Denver several years ago. I listen to the radio a lot when driving. One of the things I recall was a lot of talk about how underfunded the Colorado state pension system was and what was going to be done about it. I do not follow their politics but I would assume the closed rest areas are part of the answer. Their 3 million in savings is peanuts in a 28 Billion budget.

We have 5 acres in CO that was purchased 10 years ago in hopes that it would produce a profit after a few years. The comps are still what we paid for it. I guess we could go park on it in the summertime if needed.

I've been bidding more MJ cultivation facilities than casino jobs in Las Vegas lately, big biz apparently.

Never traveled through CO while RVing. Just car or pickup, so can't help with info on the fuel stops or rest areas.

Turn your five acres into an RV park with available fast flow diesel pumps and you will have a win win situation!

Thanks for the info...those parks look pretty good and close enough to the city so we could explore downtown.

I've wanted to go through the Eisenhower Tunnel on 70 for several years now and so we may do it next year and visit Denver and Golden too.

Maybe they are gearing up to put in pot rest areas, pull in the big rig lane, get a big fat joint at the drive up window,be on your way. Don't need gas, you'll have plenty later after eating 15 hot dogs and a big ol plate full of beans to try to settle the munchies. You guys with the DP, might want to fill your tanks in a nearby state.
