We bought our 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire one year and two days ago. Moved in totally the day we bought it. The journey awaits. No plans to by a second.

We started with this rig, which was purchased for $10k a few years ago. Spent a few more thousand getting to where I felt it would be reliable. So far 20k miles later, it has performed perfectly. Will upgrade around retirement time.

1974 Winnebago Brave 19'.... a bread truck with windows and a Dodge 360. Sold it for more than I paid for it and went to Hawaii. Came back, bought a 1978 Winnebago Brave 23'. Drove it a few years and sold it on a move to Italy. Next was a 94 Vectra 32' with a p30 454.. Went up to a 38' pusher in 2000. Discounting the Coleman popup and 22' Holiday TT that got me started. This will be my last...gonna drive it into the ground.

First was the 29 ft Cobra by American class C. Spent 6 years with that and 4 cross country trips and multiple short trips. Now have the 2001 Monaco Signature 43ft Diesel. 2 cross country trips and 3 shorter so far. Love it.

In 1987 we bought a 1985 22' Prowler self contained trailer that was advertised by an individual in our local paper. The protective plastic was still over the carpet and the oven still had the styrofoam packing material in it. We kept that trailer for 6 years until we began to outgrow it with our three kids. We first towed the Prowler with a Ford Aerostar minivan and later with a Ford Bronco.
We stayed out of camping until 2006 when we finally settled an insurance claim for our lost weekend house we had along the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina. My wife & I decided we would try a MH this time. After much looking, we found a 34' 1997 Newmar Kountry Star Class A that was for sale by an individual in east Texas. We made an appointment to go see it that next weekend. It had been very well maintained and wrote a personal check for it on the spot. I expected to have to travel back there the next weekend to pick it up after the check cleared but the seller suggested we take it to a nice campground that was close by and spent the night in it. We had to go to the local Walmart to buy some sheets, towels, and a change of clothes! After a good first night in the MH, we said goodbye to the sellers and then headed home. The KS gave us excellent service until we traded it in on our current MH (another gently used RV) two and a half years ago.

We tent camped and then used a 1989 Suburban for travel (still have it). We started looking for a small Class C. My wife was paranoid about getting a bigger unit so we were looking for a ~25 foot Class C.
In 1997, luckily my wife was out of town and I happen to see an ad in the newspaper for a RV dealer having an auction to liquidate stock. I went ahead to the auctions not really thinking about buying.
Well not many people showed up and the first RV they tried to sell was a ~25' Class C. Didn't get a high enough bid so it didn't sell. I didn't bid and was just lurking.
The next RV was a 31' Class C. The bidding went to $35.7K and the auctioneer said that wasn't enough and would have to pull the RV if the bidding didn't go higher. I thought to myself I'd be a fool at least not to bid one time so the auctioneer was asking for $36.7K and I threw my hand up. Next thing I heard was Going Going Gone and I won the bid.
We kept that coach until 2009, sold it after we bought our current rig.
