What is the Oddest Floor Plan?

I saw a Newmar All Star. Very very interesting floor plan - 4 seats up front. Driver passenger then two seats directly behind - kinda cool, then the rear living room...then I blanked out when I heard it was mid engine. Did I hear that right? If so, how in the heck does that work?

Did a quick Google on the name and came up with this floor plan.

I like it. No idea how the mid engine would work unless it was laid out like a pusher (only flipped) with the very short driveshaft.

Wow, different. Somebody's thinking "outside the box"! First glance, I like it too. The second door makes GREAT sense....

Newmar All Star

The All Star shown is a 2009 model. This floorplan is not on the 2013 Newmar website. Interesting, but I don;t think it went over well.

Happy Trails!

Here's some photos of one that has already been sold. It is an interesting floor plan. The rear living room is really nice and spacious.

I don't now , added height & extra step to get the floor flat over the engine, then pulling up a huge section of floor, for service work.

I've seen several Newells with a Murphy bed and the flatscreen TV is mounted under the bed. My wife couldn't lounge in bed and watch soaps. ;< (

The mid-engine Newmar Allstar is also discussed here:
Newmar Allstar Mid engine

It used a Spartan Me2 mid-engine chassis, which first appeared in 2000. It is stronger than a rear engine chassis and has better weight distribution for improved handling. And moving the engine forward makes a toyhauler style coach practical without the noise of a front engine design. It never caught on with the public, though. Theer is an article about mid-engine designs here:
http://www.rv-news.com/jan2001/feature2.htm

Some European motorcoaches are built with mid-engine chassis as well. The chassis are designed and built in Europe - it didn't catch on here.

That is it - the second floorplan with livingroom in the back. For full time living I thought this floorplan would be great. Seemed to have a lot of room.

I like it as well but don't care for the small wardrobe space in the bedroom. Loose the passenger chairs and extend the wall forward and I'd love it.

so... you would have to walk through the bedroom and the bathroom (or go outside) to get from the front to the back of the rv? pass. might be ok for a family of two retirees...
