What is the symbol INSIDE the outer symbol? I have 3 possible warning indicators in that shape ... "wait for engine preheat", "engine fault", and "engine fault stop". My engine fault stop is accompanied by flashing red lights and a very loud noise, so I doubt it is that one!

It's just an exclamation mark. No other description.

The exclamation mark is the Cummins "engine fault warning." A mechanic with a code reader could read the fault code to see what it is indicating. The book says "the engine could derate" ie. Go into limp mode if the problem becomes serious.

Thx guys. I just got this thing- maybe i didnt fully let the engine warm up before driving away the last couple times. It seems to be on when i first start it up, but after driving for a bit andthen shutting down, then the next time i start it up the light has disappeared. Will try letting it warm up a few more minutes next time and see. Thx!

Check engine lights come on for a reason. They store this reason and wait for someone to come along and ask "what's wrong?". I doubt it's unhappy becuase it's not warm enough. Whatever it is will almost never resolve itself, and will almost always get worse. Think of that light like a sharp chest pain. Do you ignore it and hope it goes away?

Your RV is trying to tell you something. You should be listening.
