What kind of Ladder do you carry?

Made by Werner, available at most supplies. 8 ft a-frame step, 16 ft straight, folds to 4 ft long.

That’s exactly the one we have. Carry it on o chair rack on the back ladder, tied down securely and locked. We got it on Groupon for around $75.00 last winter.

Since we have a factory ladder for roof access, I bought the 7' folding step ladder. Takes up next to no basement space.

I use a folding ladder daily for work and have for the last 20 years, and have been through them all. By far the best, safest, most versatile is the 4 section folding type. They generally come in either 3' or 4' sections. So, 12' total or 16' total. I find the smaller one is MUCH easier to use but, of course, it's shorter - should be good for anything RV related, though.

Telescoping scare me. Over the years there have been some failures and problems with various brands. Also, @ 240# (+ whatever I might be carrying) I put it to the limits. I suppose if I weighed less I might opt for a telescoping due to the convenience. Also, as I type this I'm realizing the problems I heard about were 15+ years ago so maybe them collapsing is not as big of an issue as I think. I've just got a good routine down with my folding type and I love the versatility.

I did recently pick up a Little Giant at Costco that expands to 17' when needed and it's well designed and put together. I only use it when I need something a bit longer than my 12'. It works great but is a lot heavier and takes up quite a bit more space. I'd have to think a 12' type is all you'd need.

We carry a 12 foot telescoping ladder. Just slip a piece of pipe insulation on the top rung when leaning on the coach.

My choice too. Finding the right protection for the coach at top of ladder may take some creativeness but very doable. Each ladder and person are different so you will likely need to customize the protection. I find pool Funnoodles handy for countless things, they weigh nothing, cost very little, and yet can be stuffed almost anyplace.

X3- this ladder is great and very sturdy. Taller enough for me to reach top of windshield. Fits great on slide out tray.

I looked at the folding ladders at CW but they were only rated for 200#. Since I'm a little over 1/8 of a ton, that won't work so I carry my Little Giant ladder that I had at the S&B. I pull my car on a trailer so the ladder rides against the trailer stone shield. I recently added 2 hanger hooks for it to rest on.

I carry a Little Giant and a small, 3-step aluminum ladder. The LG was great for getting the windshield debugged in Oklahoma. They have some big bugs on the highway out there!

I have a warner 22 foot a frame ladder, when folded it is about 6 foot tall and will fit in the basement passthru storage. Unfolded and pulled out it is 22 foot. In the frame it is anywhere from 6 to 11 foot tall. Only down side is it is a bit heavy.

I have a little giant ladder that fits in the pass thru compartment. It works well for getting on the roof and general work on sides ETC...
