Different instructions for different slide systems. The coach from the OP's picture has an electric Power Gear system that operates off chassis 12V - it is not an HWH system, nor is it to be operated without the engine running. Since it uses chassis power, and draws significant current during operation, you will want to have the alternator supplying power when opening and closing the slides. One other thing to note, some Freightliner systems display a low voltage warning on the display after startup - this is due to the large current draw from the intake heater that cycles for a minute or so depending on block temperature. I always make sure the intake heater is done cycling and the warning message no longer appears before operating the slides - the FWS stopped halfway in one time when I tried to retract right after starting. Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the tip Mr D,

I hadn't thought about the catastrophe which would happen if the jacks were to release or even slowly relax. I will retire my stands immediately.
I'm also going to call Coachmen and see whether they've had any structural issues come back to them. IF they have, and IF they share such info, maybe there's an improvement to be made.

Also, as you've mentioned, my bus is interlocked such that you cannot move the slides while the engine is running. Batteries can do it, but generator or shore power is recommended.
