What portable battery charger would you buy?

Hey everyone - After storing the motor home in the mine and realizing, even though I hit the battery disconnects, that we'll probably have to have a way to jump-start the beast when we go back to get it next spring, I went ahead and purchased this Clore jump starter Amazon.com: Clore Automotive JNC660 1700 Peak amp 12-Volt Jump Starter: Automotive - found it for $124 when Sears shows it at over $300; some others touted higher amps straight, this one had the highest 'peak' amp rating I saw for this price range and they appear to be higher-end ones, vs. the others I looked at. Any experience or opinions?

Hi Firstpoet,
I have one similar to yours (different brand). Don't know how it works as I have never needed it to start a car or coach. However, if one needs portable power (like 12 VDC to a slide motor) it works quite well.

We have a similar unit we use mainly as a power supply for Brake Buddy. I have used it to jump start a neighbor's car. Our motorhome would take more juice than this to jump start, but I did use it last spring. I hooked it to the house batteries (2 X 6V) for about 45 minutes which charged the house batteries enough to start the generator. I was then able to charge the house batteries and use the emergency start button to put enough charge in the chassis batteries (2 X 12 Volt) to start the engine. Took a while but got there.
