What speed is your cruise control set at ?

This poll was inspired by Driving Fast, and only applies to Class A motorhomes WITH NO TOADS.

Furthermore, this applies to driving on flat two-lane interstates with a speed limit of 75 mph with little traffic (perhaps 2 vehicles in front AND 2 in back).

A poll with toads will soon follow....

With no toad I would probably be set at 65 mph.

64 is the "sweet spot" for my rig, at least with the toad. Best combination of fuel economy and reasonable speed.

I used to set the cruise at right about 55, back when the speed limit was

Cars 70, Trucks 60, Minimum 45

The motor home seems to like 55-60 for best MPG

But Michigan changed the minimum from 45 to 55 on the freeways I frequent.

So I upped it to 58-61 (More accurate than that I do not care to get)

64mph is the sweet spot for ours. No hurry to get anywhere fast. I've discovered that our destination seems to always be there when we arrive. By the way I seem to set it at that speed whether we have the toad or not.

Sometimes I hate this android.

I've never driven the knight without. My toad.

I like to frive just under 70, 68 or so is good.

Even at 53 years old, I do not have enough hours left in mylife to waste them driving any slower.

On multilane highways I like to set my cruise at whatever speed Between 55 and 70 that allows me to travel in my lane without catching up to the guy in front of me. I find it much less stressful that way. I find that most of the time the general traffic flow is slightly higher than the posted speed limit so I am usually traveling 3-5 miles per hour under the posted limit.

I usually set it on 63, with or w/o the toad. It makes for the most relaxed drive and decent mileage.

If the limit is 75 we go around 70 max. It just feels right. Again I must add unless we impede other traffic.

Fuel mileage wise I don't usually try to figure it out. We are going anyway.

I usually drive 55-60. When I am driving my car though at 70, the motorhomes and 5th wheelers are lining up to pass me. Maybe they are to embarassed to comment or ??
