what state gets your vote for the worst roads
I gotta say that Wisconsins roads are pretty bad. Especially those concrete roads where the slab joints are mismatched by 3 inches. That constant ka-thump, ka-thump drives me crazy. Nashville gets my vote for the most obnoxious potholes.

In this day and time, you would be better off asking which state has good roads... But not to digress, my state (SC) has some really crappy roads right now and our politicians won't get off their duffs and approve funding to improve (actually repair) them.

You have no idea about bad roads until you get to LA.

So...are we going to keep at this until the number 50 is reached?
Face it. All states are short on money for road repairs. Look at how many miles and miles they have to keep up in all kinds of weather.

Let's stop on a positive note. Wyoming has been known to have the best roads in America for over 10 years!

Interstate roads in NH and VT are overall excellent, worse has to be the southern states, but #1 is Louisiana, without a doubt

Areas to avoid
Specifically:
1. I-20 through Jackson, MS had to slow to 40 mph and still banged around.
2. I-70 through Indianapolis, same as #1. Use 465 bypass - longer, but you will still have your back teeth.
3. I-40 west of Memphis to Little Rock, could be up to 2hr delay with detour.

Well , I'll throw in the Gaspe peninsula , I towed my 5er for five years and never broke a thing , till I hit that road.
Only place where I've seen signage , telling you you may be washed off the road by high waves.
