What to do when water back flushing though city water intake line when pump running

After disconnecting from the last campground I was at, water is now pouring out of my intake line for park water when I run the house pump. Is there a check valve somewhere that needs attention or replacement?

check valve inside the intake likely has a piece of trash or is simply hung. Poke it a couple of times with your finger in the hole, or something that is not likely to break and cause worse problems. Not a big deal. Spring should push the valve closed and it just needs a little help getting lined back up

Most RVs have a check valve in the "water entry".
When mine sticks I can fix it by removing the screen in the hose connector and wiggling the spring loaded "center thingy", (technical term, )!

The three spoke brass colored part in this pic.

OK guys, I tried to reset the check valve, but it must be shot. I have ordered a replacement flange with check valve. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

As a temporary fix, you can plug that fitting with a simple to get garden hose plug just like the one in the water heater drain. (well at least on our coach, however yours may be different)
