What to put on rubber seals Pledge?
The local RV mechanic suggested I spray lemon pledge furniture polish on all the rubber seals to prevent weathering. He said Pledge has silicone and wax in it.
I read the can and I see nothing about wax or silicone in the ingredients. Could it be disguised in one of the ingredients I cannot pronounce? Has anyone tried pledge or is it a myth? I would think silicone spray would be more appropriate but it doesn't smell as good!

Unfortunately companies are not required to list what goes into "consumer" cleaning products. They do generally produce an SDS, (Safety Data Sheet) for their commercial/industrial customers.
According to the SDS, Lemon Pledge does contain Silicones. No mention I can find of wax, but I'm not sure the chemical makeup of wax anyway.
That being said, I use silicone spray on mine. Most auto manufacturers suggest it for conditioning weather stripping.

Never tried Pledge, but have used silicone spray or I bought a large tube of silicone grease which does not smell, last a long time and is specifically designed for rubber lubrication/preservation.
I would be concerned about Pledge, because it more likely contains mineral oils and not silicone which while providing temporary lubrication (along with the wax) it may also accelerate the breakdown the rubber seals.

Check your manufacturer's guidelines for seal maintenance. My manual says to use talcum powder. In the past, I've used sprays specifically marketed for seals and they seemed to work.

I use the spray stuff marketed for that exact purpose. Also use it on the compartment seals.

We use baby powder, as recommended by Newmar. RV Geeks has a YouTube video of RV seal maintenance that uses this technique. Check it out.

We use Wash Wax All on aircraft. It works great even for getting oil off of the belly.
They have a Rubber Cleaner for gaskets and window seals:

LOL, a brand-x silicone spray lube is probably cheaper than Pledge. Or go for broke and buy some 303 Protectant.

Sprayway 77 Dry Lubricant or CRL SW77 dry lubricant. Same stuff. This is a dry silicone spray made specifically for lubricating window channels and gaskets.

That's the first I've heard of using Pledge. It seems like that might be oily on rubber. As others have stated, Newmar recommends only baby powder, which works well to keep seals from sticking. I do treat them with 303 for UV protection.

I have used 303 since slides were installed on campers, you get the lubricity and UV protection in one product
Very handy as I use it on the rest of the coach as well including the windshield
