Question When CCC seems too low

I was hoping to bounce this against the collective intelligence of this forum.

We were interested in a 2008 Newmar that's literally got every bell and whistle you could imagine. But maybe it's too "guilded" for it's own good?

I got a printout from Newmar from when they first built it (it's birth certificate, unique to this model), and I was when the CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity ~ what you can "bring aboard" weight wise) came in at 2,131! (That includes deducting 1,333 lbs for a full water tank) This is a 45' coach on a K3 chassis!

Weirder yet, is that the towing limit (and this thing has a 15k hitch) is listed as a "-51,561" as the CCC for the trailer.

Am I missing something, or are these numbers insanely low?

Mark

Hi MarkofSJC,
What is the year, model (Essex?) and floor plan (4 digit number).

It's a 2008 London Aire (yes, one of a handful produced). The floor plan is a 4545.

YEP...LOTS OF OPTIONS!

The base NCC for the 45' models is 6500# up to 7000#. If it is all electric that adds a ton of weight just for additional batteries. I don't know the deal on the towing numbers but according to the Newmar brochure there is 15K# available to tow when at GVWR.

It would be interesting to see the build sheet for that one.

Is there a way I can attach it? It's actually very interesting to read.

OH...that is different because there aren't many options for the LADB. HOWEVER...160 gal of water would really take up some weight still...rough figures are:

GVWR = 54,000
UVW - 48,000
NCC = 6,000
Full H20 = 1,992
2 people @ 140# = 280
CCC = 3728

The options that I can see with a major negative impact are the Granite countertops, floor tile and shower walls. If they did that, I doubt they opted for the carpeted living room area to offset it at all. LOL

If you can scan it to PDF or JPEG it can be attached.

Yep...Granite is heavy. LOL

Do you have a copy of the weight sheet? I normally have found those on the inside of one of the kitchen cabinets. I was wondering if it would have your corner weights.

This one has the galley on the curb side, so the reading makes sense to me.
