When Do I Need an Alignment?

I have noticed more wear on my passenger side steer tire on my 02 Dutchstar. The outside of tire tread is more worn than the inside. My tires are 275/70/22.5 Michelin. The steering wheel does not pull but since it seems over boosted power steering I am not sure I would feel it. Love to hear and read your comments. Thanking all of you in advance!

Anytime I see unusual wear on a steer tire, I consider it time for a front end alignment. I don't have a set number of months, years, or miles for alignment, just when I see a wear pattern or have a problem.

With the outside edge worn more, my guess is that TOE-IN way is off.
Get an alignment.

If you are seeing wear it needed alignment long ago. That happened to me and after the alignment the tries couldn't deal with the change and had to be replaced.

I hope I caught the wear in time. I just noticed the wear about 400 miles ago. I am back home now and will call Freightliner this am. Will let y'all know what the shop says. Thank you!

My front right tire was wearing on the outside so bad I replaced it and aligned the front end. 7000 miles later its all good.
I put about 10k miles on a year. Now I send my rig once a year before my yearly big trip and have the chassis aligned, lubed and all checked out.
Safe travels
Rick

Have an appointment at 7am at Freightliner of Augusta to do the alignment. Will put 2000 miles on it in next 3 to 4 weeks and do not want to have to purchase a 275/70/22.5 Michelin XZA. This thread prompted me to go ahead and do the alignment. Thanks to all!

Not happy with Augusta Freightliner. Alignment was supposed to be done on Friday and service manager called and at 5:00 they had not looked at it and it was promised by Monday at noon and now it's Tuesday am and promised by this evening. Should've driven to Gaffney, SC. .

If you're that close to Gaffney, I agree.
