One is always handy. Where you keep should not be public. However we always have a can of WASP spray near the door.

I am trained and licensed to carry concealed in 34 stated. So I like to have one in back, in front and in the toad. And the intruder will never hear me close the bolt as all the weapons are locked and loaded at all times. Round in the chamber, 24-7-365. Jacking a round in a gun is noisy and let's a intruder know your location being in a house or MH. Hope I never have to pull the trigger, but if I was scared for my life, or the life of others I would have to do it.

It depends on where we are traveling. Here is Alaska, handgun on person, short barrel rifle next to couch and shotgun in bedroom. If we are traveling through Canada, shotgun (unloaded per Canada regs) in either living area or bedroom. Once in the 'lower 48' shotgun loaded whereever we are.
What ever you decide make 'SURE' that it is legal to do so where ever you are. Different rules for different States.

I knew this was going to be a hot topic. Thanks CliffTall for keeping it on topic. I hope I never have to use it.
The consenses looks like 2 guns, one in front, one in rear. I opting for mid RV since I can't see having more than 1, I'll probably never use. Haven't for 65 years either. Thanks to all. Please close topic.
