Where do you put your extra dining chairs?
We just purchased a 2005 Winnebago Journey 39F. We came from a 29 foot trailer. We had a bench seat table arrangement in the trailer and now we have a free standing table with chairs. We found the extra chairs in the closet behind a bar. I need all the space I can get in the closet so the chairs have to go elsewhere. The logical place will be in the basement but we are having a hard time finding something big enough to put them into to protect them. Do you guys have any idea what we can do to protect them??? Thanks for your help.

We just store our two extra chairs in the rear closet.

Give them all to goodwill or sell them. Get yourself some folding chairs. Put the extras in the back of the clothes closet with a bungee cord to hold them while you're traveling.

We have two regular dining chairs and two folding dining chairs. We store the two folding chairs under the bed which has a full width by about 2.5 foot high by about 18" deep storage area. However, in 3 years of using this MH we have only used the chairs 1 or 2 times.

Our 2000 coach came with the 2 extera folding chairs which were stored in our closet. Since we never used them, finally after 13 years took them out of the coach and store them at home...
Good luck in finding a storage solution and safe travels....

you might try a large pillow case for each chair, or wrap them in an old blanket and store in basement. Mine are in rear closet bungeed to side wall

We also have two regular dining chairs and two folding dining chairs. We store the two folding chairs, set up, behind the dining table up against the dining slide window. This only takes 6 inches or so and most of the folding chair sits under the table. We had them under the bed, but it was a bit of trouble to bet them out, and took a lot of the bed storage, which we need for other items. Works for us.

We also vote for under the bed. No problem getting them out as that has never been required....

With our Winnebago there is NO room under the bed due to the layout and Sleep number bed pump. The extra folding chairs came with heavy felt bags and we store them under the unit out of the way being as we've used 1 chair once in a year. This frees up the closet space which at best is limited.

We also store ours in a basement compartment. Fortunately, they came with individual bags to keep them from getting scratched up. If nothing else, get large trash bags to put them in.

20 years of motorhomes and used the extra chairs twice. My advice? They make good fire starters.

We store the two chairs in the basement each inside a sleeping bag that is stored there also. Seldom use either one. The chairs may have seen 18 meals served to company when it is too cold to be outside.

Extra Dining chairs
GREAT comments. I love the Goodwill and fire starter replies. I know some few folks may use them regularly and I have used mine but I apply the same logic as sleeping "it sleeps and feeds two". I have stored mine in a heavy garbage bag under the bed but it is a chore to get them in and out. I guess if I did not carry so much useless stuff (chairs included) I could store them underneath. Decisions Decisions. I say only invite friends to dinner when the weather is good enough to eat outside.
