Where do you take on water, besides a campground
We are thinking about boondocking the entire way from from San Fran to Houston. But it struck me... where do you take on water when you need it?
The wife and i easily live happily for a couple of days on 1/4 to 1/2 a tank of fresh, but where, aside from a camp ground, does one take on potable water  ?

We usually use CG water for showers and dishes and we drink bottled water. If the onboard tank gets low, I add at a CG where the water seems okay. We don't do a lot of boondocking though. We drove all around the country for 10 weeks doing it this way and didn't have a problem.

You can add water to your tank at most fueling stations...

I would make sure that I checked to see that it is potable water at the fueling stations

Agreed.
I don't really drink any water except bottled. Our water usage is showers, dishes, latrine. And I could go without the shower, and use paper plates, but that commode needs to stay clean at all times

Then submit it. The only way they keep up with all the dump stations and water places is by being notified by people out on the road.

I did. Completely free dump stations are nice to know about.

The freeway rest areas in Washington have dump stations with potable water fill available. Oregon may have the same, but can't be sure.
We have some of the best city water in the US, so we always leave home with a full tank.

You can always to a dump 'n fill at just about any Flying J, along with other similar truck stops that offer RV facilities.

I have been lucky in several instances that I was able to get a water load at the LOWES garden area. Just went in and asked the garden manager if I could use the hose....I put my in line filter on the hose and filled up my tank. Did this at 5 different Lowes thus far ... great bunch of people.

If you are going to boondock that much, then you should join
Overnight RV Parking
I would not leave home without it.

Most campgrounds will let you dump and fill for a $10-20 fee and often this is easier and even less expensive (in terms of fuel) than searching around for an alternative. If you get Passport America you can usually stay the whole night for $15-$25 at a decent selection of campgrounds across the country, we do this even when dry camping to cover long distances to fill up/charge up once every few nights.
