Where is the fuse?

I have a 2008 Dolphin with a Jensen VR185 radio. The radio is activated by a switch on the dash providing power from the house batteries. On my last trip, I turned on the switch, the switch lit up but there was no power to the radio.

I immediately checked the fuse panel under the dash and both fuses for the radio were OK. Just to be safe, I also checked the fuse panel under the hood and there were no fuses for the radio.

I then looked at the wiring under the dash for an in line fuse and could not find one.

I finally looked at all the 12 volt fuses on the house fuse panel and they were all good, although none of them were labeled radio.

Does anyone know of another location were the radio may be fused? I sure dread the thought of pulling that radio out of the dash so any assistance would be appreciated. Surely the radio would not just quit!

No! electronics never just quit. Sorry, trying to be funny ; not working.
Radio failure can't be rulled out, but if you have the radio manual , or can access it online, you may find that it has another fuse, internal or external on the outside of the case. Radio manufacturer may not have trusted the installer to provide a circuit with the correct size of fuse, so built the radio with it's own. But !!! before you pull the radio, test all fuses with a test light or a volt meter, looking good isn't good enough ! Have you tested for power , to and through the switch ?

Check the Battery Control Center for radio fuse on house side.

Read your radio manual. Both of mine pull out in seconds with little metal tools that came in the infamous black bag. Some have a fuse right in the back of the radio or in the wiring near the radio.

Sometimes a fuse can be bad but doesn't look like it is bad. I'd put a fresh fuse in place of the original to check it.

If the light on the switch is coming on when you turn the switch on, you have power to that point. The switch has a bulb wired to the output side of the switch. If a fuse was blown, before the switch, the switch would not light up. So start checking for power after the switch.

I found the problem!

I took your advice and pulled the manual out. There are two inline fuses but I didn't have to go that far. There is also a reset button on the front of the radio that you reset with a ballpoint pen.

All is good!

Thanks for the excellent advice.
