Post 10 above has the answer. When my previous coach ladder was attacked by my garage roof I got everything I needed for less than $50. Two 3 ft lengths of tubing, 4 internal splice tubes, stainless screws, it's actually pretty easy. At one time they had the ability to make ladders, ask them. It was easier for me to repair than replace.

My thought as well

My coach, like most Safaris, has never had a mounted ladder.
I have carried a 12.5' Telescoping ladder in the trunk of my toad for 14+ years.
A portable ladder not only gets you onto the roof it also allows you to access areas on the front and rear caps and the sidewalls that you can't reach from a mounted ladder or from the roof.

I did the same as pictured with mine. Not really bent but broken, so I removed it and tie wired pieces of angle iron across about 3-4 steps to keep it inline during welding and took to a guy who heli-arced it for $50. It's still on there and you really can't see the welds unless you were looking.
