Where to get Class A inspected?
My inspection sticker is coming up for renewal. What type of places do you take your motor home in for inspection. I take my cars to a little quick lube type place, first motor home would not even fit, second I don't want some young kid trying to test drive mu coach. Any suggestions?

The outfit you're really after works on semi's, dump trucks, and other big stuff. They'll know exactly what they're doing. You'll just need to stop in and ask them about the safety check you need?

In Conroe Tx I found a big truck tire dealership that does inspections. Easy in and out

Same here in the Houston area. Not much of an "inspection" at all. I think my hubby took ours to a JiffyLube or somewhere. They didn't need to take it into the service bay.

They don't drive your RV for the inspection in Texas. I use a tire shop (Don Rucker) in Austin.

Same here. I use the Valvoline quick-lube in Whitney. They did the wife's car today; I will take the motorhome there later in the week. They did it last year. No driving; just checked the lights and horn. Same price as a car.

I've taken mine to a Jiffy Lube place in Denton TX and they told me they couldn't do it because it weighed more than 26,000 lbs. They are wrong, but that was what they said. I take it to Inland Truck Service now. They can't do it unless it is diesel. It should only cost$14.50.

Diesel or Gas?
Diesel is a no brainier. Any testing place that you can get into can do it. By getting into I mean their driveway. As stated, price is 14.50 or that was what it was in August.
The service station that I take mine to will not do a Gasser. (Don't know why.) Probably due to the emissions test.

Before we took our trip to Alaska I had a DOT inspection done on our Winnebago Journey. In Md. we do not have yearly inspections. I would recommend a DOT inspection, cost was about $75. That included testing the antifreeze too.

The TXDOT website lists the locations that can perform the commercial inspections. A lot of the truck service centers will have that capability.
