Which patio mats ?

Hello all: I'm looking for some new awning mat/ mats for my rv. I bought the basic mats from Camping World awhile back, they have seen their last trip.

I'm looking at the carefree of colorado mat "Dura Mat" and the Zip Dee " Ulti-Mat" .. I do have zip dee awnings, but the pattern isn't made anymore, so I'm not stuck on Zip Dee.

Has anyone used either? Both websites say theirs is best. My awning is 22 ft, but I'm thinking of (2) 8x10 mats, because of stuff around campsite.

Thank You,

Chris

Check this thread before you decide. Gotta go back to posts prior to #20. Best of luck in your search and decision.

What is the worst thing you bought for your RV?

Talking

Thanks diesel tech: thank you for the link, but I like using the patio mats. We always seem to be on dirt most of the time, not much on pavement.

Thank You,
Chris

We just bought one at Wallie World. Inexpensive, flow through for water, and seems to work pretty well. We've used in a month, not sure how long it will last, but so far so good. I figure at the price I can buy a new one every season.

Mat

So far after 10 yrs of trial and error the Carefree duramat is the best one yet. Easy to fold up, washes up like new, bought the 8'x20' as our awning is 19'-6". Stuck with no pattern and neutral colours .

x2 on the Carefree mat. Very durable, good choice of sizes and colors and as dezolen mentions, it is easy to fold. It folds down much smaller than the CW or Wallyworld mats.

Check out rvmat.com (j&j sunshade). Really nice mats. They won't blow around and won't kill grass. They have a good selection of colors and patterns and can make custom sizes. I highly recommend them.

I had one of the plastic weave type mats that was a pain in the rear. It would allow grass and twigs to intertwine and you could never get them out short of power washing it. I have the astro turf style now and am very happy with it. I think its made by the same people that make the step covers, presto fit maybe? I bought it at camping world. Yes it will yellow the grass if camped for more than a week but the grass comes back. I don't like to use it on grass or dirt if its going to rain a lot because its hard to clean the dirt off. I would not be without one however. We love the feel it gives the campsite, kind of like a three season room and I can go out in socks or barefoot in the morning to have my coffee. Just seems more like home. One tip, if it does get dirty, just fold the dirty side toward each other and when you get home, hose it off. Keeps your compartment cleaner for the trip home.

thanks everyone for the replies. I ordered the Carefree mats from Amazon. Will give a review of the mats soon.
