Seriously...what a GREAT response by all to my original question. I had been thinking about reinstalling, but figured CB's had gone the way of the dodo. I can see that there are a bunch of people out there still using them and some good reasons to have one onboard.

Think of it this way: In an emergency, stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, it's good to have as many communication tools available as possible. If the cell phone doesn't work, is out or range, or battery run down, then being able to call for help on a CB or ham radio (or both) may save the day. I travel with all 3, and thinking of adding a flare pistol as well!
