If that was on a 18 wheeler's forum, I could understand the question but on mh's forum, no one uses their mh the same way.

Just curious about what to expect, and just to have a little fun!

Diesel engines are expected to drive for over 1 million milles before major surgery !
At 60,000 milles on my first dp, I was due for the first "valve asjustment" on a 5,9 L CUMMINS engine; the mechanic told me at the time, the engine was just breaking in for regular usage and that I could now floor it to its maximum.

We got our 2005 KSDP 3910 in August of '13 with 102K. We have gotten that up to 116K now.

It's a Cummins ISC 330HP.

Not many miles but I can't wait to get enough were I can hold her down and see what she can really do.😳

There has to be a direct correlation between the odometer and employment status. You retired folks have all the fun (and mileage). 28K on our 2009.

Detroit Diesel 8V92T has reached "half life" ... 550,000 miles so far. It may outlive me. By the way, it is a two-stroke. Sounds great.

Moonrover should post an audio fine of that 2 cylinder Detroit.
Probably has that rolly lumpy idle of a 2 cylinder diesel -- pretty cool.
I remember them in a few of the boats we had in the Navy back when.

and congratulations on the 550,000 miles, nice

thx -- Dale

Uh, that's two cycle, not cylinder. Power on every stroke, unlike the four cycle diesels. But yes, the sound is a throaty rumble that is unmistakable. Couple that with the whine of the turbo spooling up on a mountain climb, and you know you have a big engine pushing up the hill.

The downside is it gets only 6 to 7 mpg.
