Who Rebuilds A/C compressors?

My A/C compressor has taken a dump.

Apparently it has an unique mount and is no longer produced.

I am looking for a place that will rebuild this compressor.

I have only found two places that look like they might rebuild compressors

R & Y A/C Compressors
15315 NE 21 Ave.
Miami, Fl 33162
(305) 919-8864
https://www.rycompressors.com/

and

Discount Auto AC, Inc.
1115 Enterprise Ct.
Unit D
Holly Hill, Fl 32117
(386) 944-5485
Discount Auto AC | auto ac compressor catalog Discount Auto AC, Inc

I'm hoping this community will come up with some more.

With paid insertions on google I cannot seem to find any more. I would think there would be a place right here in Rochester, but cannot find one.

Some news

Compressor is off the Motor Home.

Turns out it is a remanufactured unit

Sticker on the unit says Ready-Aire 2442.

Amazon lists it but state "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

https://www.amazon.com/Ready-Aire-24...art/B0031G1VFI

Seems like it has been on a lot of vehicles (GM) 927 different vehicles. Lots of vans, pickups, blazers, and some Caprices

Every place I checked no longer has it.

I may have to go to a junk yard for this compressor (I do not want to do that).

You mite try looking out of state, AZ in particular. We have a LOT of older cars on the road still and a lot of shops that specialize in older car parts and/or rebuilds. They may even be able to recommend a compatible replacement if they don't have yours or can't rebuild yours.

Looks like a GM A6. I retired from Standard Motor Products. One of their divisions is Four Seasons, a large automotive AC aftermarket supplier. You might try their web site. I think it's 'smpcorp.com'. They may have catalog information about compressors. It's been quite some time since I looked there.

If you start junk yard shopping, make sure it is on a sealed system.

Anything open to the atmosphere will probably fail soon.

Somebody in the classic car business should be selling them.

Glenn, try ACParts.com located in Texas.

I had talked to a guy named Richard back in 2012 when I was looking for a replacement compressor that was installed on my Cummins. I sent him a photo and he matched it up with one he had in stock.

Thanks for all the input.

A friend of mine took one of the fitment vehicles listed in Amazon.

NaPa has the unit TEM251227
https://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/TEM251227/

It is not in the local store, but is in Connecticut.

It is on sale for $188.10

Not an outrageous price ... plus drier and some 134a and you're back in business.

You need make sure you flush out any metal debris from the system. Failed compressors often spill their metallic guts into the system when they fail. If not flushed out, it will cause your new compressor to go south quickly.

The install is being done by Regional International.

System will be evacuated and flushed as best possible, compressor and condenser are at the rear of the motor home and the a/c unit and drier are at the front (new drier will be purchased).

The line from front to back needs to be flushed.

I did mine with help from a friend.

I blew with a compressor and some commercial flush.

He caught the BB's in a bucket.
