I look at it this way. The ones that wave are nice friendly people, the others probably have gas, and are miserable! I always wave, and smile to myself when it isn't returned.

I do the sothern lazy wave. My hands nvever come off the wheel. But all my fingers will wiggle up in their direction. This is a car though, not sure that can be seen in a MH. Guess Iwill report back on that.

Always wave! Sometimes I get a response and sometime I don't, it doesn't bother me either way

Have had my Harley for 25 years and always waved to other bikers even ones with foreign bikes so no snottyness here. Hey as long as your having fun.
One day while happily driving along in our MH DW asks me "why don't you wave to other RV drivers that wave"? I hadn't noticed any. Now I try to look for other RVers (safely) and give 'em a wave. I don't care what you are driving. If it is a tent in the trunk give me a hello wave anyway

I do my RV thing all year long, and am a full time boondocker to boot.
I boondock mainly because I find the majority of people complete boor's, and would not sit around a campfire and listen their constant banter, so why would I wave at them just because they are in an RV.
George Washington, at the time of his death was working on "speak not but to improve yourself, or others, avoid trifling conversation".
Right On George!

HEH!
I'm amused at some responders, who are too "blind" to see other RVers wave, too arthritic and feeble to take one hand off that wheel to wave - OR too exhausted by all the waving they did on the road traveled so far...
I'd bet that if it was a gorgeous young gal they were meeting, they'd SEE her quite easily, and then wave with BOTH hands, "glare" or not - and I'd also bet that those too arthritic to take one hand off that hard to control RV wheel to wave, have NO problems taking that same hand off the wheel to tune the radio, adjust their glasses - or scratch their butts - all without the slightest complaints from their better halves...
Here in friendly Oregon, we ALL wave, to every one, every time - after all, it helps keep our eyes exercised, the blood circulated, and joints all loose and flexible - and I don't recall hearing about a single accident caused by that friendly wave...

On the bike, i wave.
The boat, hell yes, along with jumping up and down and yelling.
Vette owners, always.
Wranglers owner? Yes, i always wave at fellow wrangler owners. Some class warfair here, owners of newer jk's don't wave at us tj owners much, and of course, us tj onwers KNOW that real wranglrs do not have 4 doors, and there fore we ignore them...
The motorhome is tough. Yes, when passing, i do tend to keep both hands on the wheel and my focus up ahead, it helps when 2 large vehicles are passing within inches. Lately i've tried to at least make eye contact and smile for the truckers i'm passing.
I will try more often to wave at fellow rvers i see on the road.
At the campground, i walk my dog around, and talk to EVERYONE!

Well, the question was why do some not wave at other Motorhomes.
The responses seem to be refering to RV's. To me that would be anyone towing a boat, a Class B full of kids going to a soccer match, the construction worker relocating his on site trailer, a motorcyclist, a motorhome, a 5th Wheel, a bumper pull trailer, etc.
Way too politically complicated for me. I do not want to be waving all the time. I also feel embarrassed just waving at only Motorhomes.
So I'll take a waiver.......

I like to wave when it's safe...you have to consider that this is a form of communication. People "talk" to eachother differently these days- texting and so-forth. A wave might not be considered a friendly gesture by some- believe it or not. Sad that old values seem to go away with some people.
