Just ask Ron the "Birdman" at Tom Johnson. He will tell you all about the "Bluebird"!

I am from the area and I know the wind coming across the road on 81 in that stretch can be terrible at times.

After seeing a 2 inch cutout from the side of a Wanderlodge, this is the unit I want to be in during a not too close nuclear attack.

Met a gentleman in Chicken that had drilled a 2" hole in the side of his for some piece of electronic equipment and showed me the cross section. His BlueBird looked like some kind of 'Spy' vehicle in a James Bond movie with all the domes, antenna and dishes mounted on top. Anyway, this thing was plated with something close to 3/32nds of STEEL...truly an armored tank in a RV dress uniform. Man that thing looked stout!

Truck Conversions Pretty Solid!

While we're discussing build structural integrity, the Truck Conversions are pretty strong also.

The frame and chassis are designed for towing beyond 80,000 pounds and the Cab is very safe.

Cheers, JohnnyB

I have an idea ......... How about all iRV2 members demonstrate compassion for the folks that had severe misfortune on I-81. Anyone, regardless of vehicle, that is in a rollover has had a very bad day.

What the hell, whats next.

This should have never happened.
Falling asleep @ the wheel, Come on, Sorry but 80 Hope they are alright "BUT" what would we be saying if he wiped out a real school bus full of children ??? take him off the road.
tb
Police tell us John Devore, 80, of Pennellville, New York, fell asleep at the wheel, drove off the roadway, lost control, then overturned and eventually came to a stop in the median.

I could not estimate the number vehicles that I have recovered over the decades that the drivers admited to falling a sleep. These people have been from all ages but none that old.

There just is not enough information to blame it on age.

There is a large demand for these coaches and had conversation with a new owner last summer. We had pulled into Little America, WY for the night and he came in behind us. We were heading east and he was heading west. Said he had flown to NC for the purchase and was now on his way back to WA state with it. He mentioned having a much newer coach at home, that he was selling in favor of the older Wanderlodge. Can't remember for sure right now, but think it was a DP.
