Why oh Why
Why does my propane alarm go off some times when you take a shower? We shower every day so its not because we smell bad  . The only way I have found for it not to go off is to turn on the vent fan and leave the bathroom door open. If the bathroom door is closed it will make the alarm go off. The alarm is located about 5 ft. from the bathroom door about 6 in. off the floor. Is it the humidity coming under the bathroom door making it go off?

One thing to check is the Hot Water heater. When you shower you use hot water and that will turn on the heater.
Poor some soapy water on every fitting in the gas line goung to the heater while it's heating water and look for bubbles.

Does this happen anywhere you are connected? Some well water supplies have natural gas in them. A few people are blaming hydro-fracking.

From what I understand you can vent the well to prevent the flame thrower faucet.

I believe the moisture and humidity near the floor collect on the detector's sensors and create a damp situation where the unit would not work properly. Thus the alarm goes off the let you know something is amiss.

Mody - Domey, As a normal operating proceedure you should always operate your vent fan when the shower is running. 
(Even in the cold of winter) {Yet - some of us will blow that off though}

You don't mention your RV's age
If your LP alarm is over 5 years old it may need replaced. We are replacing ours this year and it has advanced circuitry to reduce false alarms as well as has lower current draw.

DW's hair spray would set our propane detector off in our last MH.

Ditto on the replacement of the alarm, they go bad especially when they activate a lot----check the gas fittings for sure----

The MH is 3 years old and we use electric to heat the water. We also always run the vent fan when taking a shower. It must be condensation on sensor just wondered if anyone else had this situation. Thanks for all your input!

I'm thinking that dust, etc. has collected on the sensor and the increased humidity is activating it. Contamination of LP sensors is a common problem - residual sprays in the air (hair, PAM, etc.), cooking residue floating in the air, fumes from floor cleaners and polishes, etc. can all affect the lifetime and accuracy of the LP detector. I would try replacing it.
