Not sure, but did any of those who said they prefer to travel around sixty say they did it in the left lane?
I don't think so.

My point was obstructing traffic in the left lane is is getting attention of law makers.

True that about the left lane. The traffic enforcement gendarmes here on the Island are finally starting to may those fools pay up and learn to drive in the D R I V I N G lane and to leave the passing lane clear. When i was a kid not so much but as I age (mature??) i stop looking at the posted speed as some sort of challenge.

They have passed laws about dawdling in the left lane, but it must be very flagrant to catch any green stamps. They haven't funded for it, as in more Smokies.

I was actually happy that my backwards state finally got around to implementing this law. Unfortunately, it has been about as effective as the "merge now" law...

I actually got a tickets for driving in the left lane to long in PA when I was 20. I was passing a guy and I saw the trooper sitting on the exit/entrance ramp so I slowed down and the guy I was passing slowed down too. So he couldn't get me for speeding so hence the left lane. $85.00 later and two hrs because being from out of state we had to go to the justice of the peace and he was eating lunch so we had to wait.

Today was driving near Chattanooga speed limit was 55 and I was doing about 57 and a coach passed me like I was standing still. (along with passing every truck too.) Now this area is very curvy etc. I don't care if you want to go fast but don't put others lives in danger.

I doubt there will be any real push on this, either. It just codifies the notion that there are places not to dawdle. There are are also some places where it is not only allowed but encouraged with pull outs, scenic byways come to mind. The conscientiously obstructive have their rights, too.
