I drive by wallmart daily; There is allways 4 to 8 RVs parked there;; I ask myself WHY,, Did they spend all their money on thair rv and can't afford a RV site ??? ( Elcheepo No class )) , Or are they just stopping for a bit of a rest and shopping ,??? ( Why the jacks and slides ))) Help me to understand, OK.. Life is good

There is a very old and long thread on this site about walmart parking. But the net is that Walmart allows RV'er to overnight park. As a result folks will shop at walmart for food, rv supplies, and anything else they might need.

Many rv'ers will spend the night due to the cost (none), convenience (close to interstates, late arrival, early departure).

There are "guidelines" for staying at walmarts such as no jacks on hot asphalt, don't setup camp, park out of the way, etc.

I've never parked in a parking lot, but have no objections to doing so.

While traveling it is not always easy to locate a nearby RV park and costly for just a few hours r&r. I follow simple rules, no jacks down, no slides out, don't leave trash behind, leave early.
