It's my Toy... I wanted a small c so I could drive it, hook it up, empty the tanks,back it up, etc. solo. I do it. When we play with our toys together( His powered parachute), He usually does most the driving. I have pulled the trailer, in mountains. He feels comfortable enough to doze. When we go far, he does the lions share, but I probably put in 3-4 hours a day of drive time to spell him. He's had more booboo's with it than I have... and all locally! He isn't into RVing as much as I am, and tends to like to get there, have our fun, then get home... so when we drive long days... it's on him. I'd rather take my time and mosey along...stopping to nap or turn in early as I please.

Well, DW is 5' tall so you wouldn't think she would want to drive a 40' DP, but we were both volunteer fire fighters for 10 years. We had a driving class and had to back a 40' pumper around a corner and park within 1' of a cone. It built a lot of confidence.

I recommend taking a driving class to gain confidence.

I drive most of the time out of "chivalry" so she can doze, check email, (and so i don't feel obligated to do laundry), but occasionally she wants to drive and I let her.

Now if I could just get her down to the DMV to take the class B test...

I am the DW and I do all of the driving. My DH needs to use the rest room a lot more than I do, so it works out.

This is our situation too. I have no desire to drive our coach. In fact in gives me panic attacks just thinking about it. Our plan B would be that I call our neighbor to come get us. And we have travel assist insurance too.

We have Holiday Rambler Endeavor and my wife does all of the driving.

My wife drives our rig all the time. She drove it through 20 miles of road construction on interstate 90 a couple of years ago and the wind was blowing pretty good. We take turns . works out great.

We split the driving time. It has a safety factor to it as well being able to chill out and go to sleep at night with little relaxation and not being over tired. Living on a farm many years ago taught me to drive farm equipment and large trucks. As a refresher I watched several you tube videos explaining turning and lane location. They really helped!

My wife does most of the driving. My driving makes her nervous. But I am better backing up.

Two truths I have learned about driving a motorhome:

Wife use to drive a 40' rent car drop off/pickup bus at the SF airport. Driving our class A moho is a breeze for her. Her signal for when my driving habits become questionable is she holds her hand in front of her eyes, stomps her feet to the floor and grips the chair arm. Darn if she isn't usually right....... We have driven all over north America and both can sleep while the other is driving. But, I have to admit she uses the brakes like she is drove at the airport and I often slide off the bed!

I bought the motorhome and then my boyfriend and I got together. We plan on full timing here within the month and I've been the only person to drive the 30ft Winnie. Joseph is scared to drive it haha but I told him there is NO WAY im driving the whole time.

I believe the driving should be shared and as long as extreme caution is taken, can be done very easily and successfully ha.

I am the DW and haven't driven ours yet. I use to drive a school bus but my bus had a front on it and my mh doesn't so that is different. Also we paid for the MH and the government paid for the bus. I don't want to damage it. Lol Maybe this summer I will get behind the wheel.
