Hello! I am looking at a 38 foot class A to purchase shortly. I have two driveways to park it on. I'd prefer to park it on one over the other since it is level and more protected. I drew a map of the driveway. Will I be able to manuever a 38' class A into it?
-No preference forwards or backed in
-The road is a cul-de-sac that goes uphill
-The driveway has a firm 12 foot clearance, one side is a retaining wall starting at a foot and gradually increasing to about 3 feet while the other side of the driveway butts right up to a large tree
-My neighbor has a fence right at the edge of the road opposite of my driveway so there is no room for the tail backing up a little over the grass there at all

Sure you can park it there.......it is only 12' wide, so when parked your driveway will be shutdown to the garage........

Palehorse, access to the garage is not a problem there...I have it from the other driveway already. I just need to know how to manuver it in correctly! How would you do it!!!!!!!

Tell whomever you're buying it from that the final decision will be after attempting to fit it in your driveway. But, I'd back it in from the uphill part - of you street - down into your drive. Or probably take out the tree/bush at the front of your drive.

Thank you! Im very new to this and trying to get all the info I can ahead of time.

Is it possible to "inchworm" it in with the way you suggested? By doing alot of short backing and pulling forward?

It's going to be a multiple point turn and take a few minutes but you should be able to get it in the drive with a 36' wide road to work with.

In my opinion, it looks doable. I have a 38 ft. If you were at an intersection waiting to turn, it doesn't look any different than your driveway. If you can turn around in the cul de sac, you would be backing in on your drivers mirror side, which is easier. Also the side of the driveway where the tail will be swinging looks like it is clear on your picture. Either way looks doable to me. At worse, you can make a correction to line up better.

Personally, I’d consider widening the driveway on the left hand side with some decorative (big stone) gravel. Take out the tree. Regardless of the size of rig, I think you’d want some swing room. Our rig is 34’ and we have a ditch right across a standard size rural road.
We back in with no problem, and as they say, practice makes perfect.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

The best thing I learned from driving semis is......always back in on your drivers side ......lot less chance of a accident. So up around the circle and back in. You will have the big drivers window and your mirror.If you are towards the drivers side of the driveway ya know you are ok on the passenger side.
